Underground Shift Supervisor, Kalgoorlie Goldfields: A Package Built for Real Leaders

Most underground supervisor ads want you to be a boss. This one wants you to be a leader, and it means it.

This operation, based in the Kalgoorlie goldfields, has deliberately moved away from the old school, command and control style of supervision.

Historically, one supervisor did everything themselves and burned out doing it.

That's changing. More supervisors are being brought in so leadership actually has room to lead, not just survive a shift, and the package on offer reflects how seriously they take that.

You will:
- Lead a crew of 15 to 20 people through drilling, blasting, mucking and development, hitting production targets without cutting corners.
- Run the 24 hour operational plan and adjust it in real time as conditions underground actually change.
- Own your shift reporting properly: production, delays, root causes, incidents, all of it.
- Set the safety standard yourself through pre-starts, inspections and leadership interactions, and call out unsafe work the moment you see it, not after the fact.
- Coach and develop your people so the crew gets stronger under you, not just busier.
- Have the hard conversations when standards slip, without losing the respect of the people you're having them with.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to do everyone else's job for them. Think before you act, own the outcome, good or bad, and trust the people around you enough to actually lead them instead of just directing them.

You'll be backed to pause and make a considered call instead of reacting and hoping. If your idea of leadership is presence, coaching and holding a hard line without becoming someone's least favourite boss, you'll fit straight in.

You'll bring:
- A WA Underground Shift Supervisor Ticket (S26).
- Around 7 or more years of solid underground mining experience.
- Previous supervisory experience, or a genuine track record of stepping up and leading a crew informally already.
- A practical, hands on understanding of underground development, equipment and how a real shift actually runs.
- The ability to plan, prioritise and keep a crew aligned to safety and production at the same time, not one at the expense of the other.
- Direct, clear communication and the backbone to have a hard conversation when it's needed.
- A genuine interest in developing people, not just managing them.

What's on offer:
- A base salary well above the market benchmark for this level, plus quarterly performance bonuses and superannuation.
- A 7 on, 7 off roster with a Thursday afternoon charter flight, covering both days and nights.
- Your choice of fly in fly out, or drive in drive out if you'd rather live locally.
- Relocation support if you want to make the move to Kalgoorlie, plus a 6 percent local living allowance for residents.
- A genuinely growing operation that's adding supervisor roles and building future leaders, not scrambling to patch a gap.
- A fast, straightforward recruitment process. No black hole, no radio silence.

If you've been waiting for a supervisor role that actually backs modern leadership, and pays like it means it, this is worth a confidential conversation.
