Light Vehicle Mechanic - 8/6

Location:

Kalgoorlie WA, Australia

Job Type:

Full Time

Calling all light vehicle wizards, mechanical maestros, and fix-it geniuses—are you ready to trade the workshop grind for an 8/6 FIFO roster that lets you work hard, play harder?

We’re looking for light vehicle fitters who can turn a wrench like a pro and keep the fleet purring like a well-oiled Landcruiser.

If you can diagnose a problem faster than someone can Google it and reckon you’ve got what it takes to keep things running smoothly underground, on the surface, and everywhere in between, keep reading.

What’s the Gig?

Here’s what your days will look like:

- Maintenance Magic: Keep light vehicles and trailers—think Landcruisers, Hiluxs, Rangers, HiAce buses, and Isuzu 4x4s—in tip-top shape.

- Problem-solver Extraordinaire: Tackle breakdowns and fault-finding missions with precision (and maybe a little cursing under your breath, we won’t judge).

- Field Adventures: Whether it’s surface, underground, or in the Perth workshop, you’ll get your hands dirty (literally) in all the right places.

- Paperwork Pro: Keep the logs accurate, the orders organised, and your reports on time. Spreadsheets? Easy. Getting grease on them? Optional.

- Team Player: Work with operations and customers like the smooth operator you are.

What We’re Looking For (aka, The Wish List):

- Have permanent Australian Working rights

- 3–5 years of experience keeping light vehicles alive and kicking.

- A relevant mechanical trade qualification. (Yep, your certificate matters here.)

- A C Class driver’s licence—because you can’t drive the fleet with a bus pass.

- A National Police Clearance (within 6 months).

- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and D&A screening. (This is the real test—no beer-for-breakfast types here.)

- Solid communication skills and the patience to work in a team (even when Gary forgets to refill the tool cart again).

Why This Job Rocks:

- Money, honey: Competitive pay to keep you and your bank account smiling.

- Work/life balance: An 8/6 FIFO roster gives you time for work, rest, and maybe even binge-watching a series or three.

- Career Kickstarter: Internal training and trade upgrades mean you’ll never stop levelling up.

- Good vibes only: Join a company where people matter, the culture’s solid, and the banter flows like Friday knock-off coldies.

So, if you’re ready to swap a boring workshop job for something that’s got excitement, challenge, and a bloody great team, hit apply now. We’ll keep the grease warm for you.

Don’t miss out—it’s time to make your career fitter than ever!
