Lead Carpenter. Kalgoorlie based. On the tools, in front of the crew.

I am Tammie, from Itch Recruitment, and I am looking for a Lead Carpenter for a Kalgoorlie based builder working across commercial, mining and industrial projects in the Goldfields. Local Kal legends preferred.

Solid FIFO on a contract roster will be considered for the right operator.

This is not a clipboard job. You are still on the tools, still cutting, still fixing the things nobody else can figure out. You are also the person the apprentices watch, the person the Site Manager leans on, and the person the client sees representing the business on site.

Who you are

A qualified Carpenter with a proper Aussie trade ticket, real time in Leading Hand or Lead Carpenter shoes, and enough site experience to smell a problem before it turns into one. You read plans without fuss, run a tidy site, and back your work.

You lead by example, not by volume. You bring the apprentices along instead of leaving them behind. You make safety look like second nature because for you it is.

Where you will be working

Commercial and residential builds across the Goldfields. Varied work, real responsibility, and a Site Manager who is genuinely a good bloke to work for. Standard days are 07h00 to 16h00, roster to be confirmed depending on project.

The must haves
- Australian trade qualification as a Carpenter
- Solid time in a Leading Hand, Lead Carpenter or Site Supervisor seat
- Current White Card
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Permanent Australian work rights (no exceptions on this one)
- The ability to read plans, run a crew, and hold a standard

Who this will suit

Someone who has done their time in commercial construction, ideally with residential in the back pocket too. Someone who wants to lead a crew without becoming a paper pusher, who values a straight-talking owner over a layer of middle management, and who would rather work in KAL than anywhere else in the country. **Only candidates with full Australian work rights and living in WA will be considered**
