We’re seeking a highly skilled Communications, Electronics & Networking Technician/Specialist to join a small, dynamic team advancing Australian excellence in aerial, defence, and industrial systems.
About the Role:
Bring your expertise to the front lines of mission-critical innovation. You’ll tackle complex technical challenges - designing, integrating, and supporting advanced communication networks and electronic subsystems across next-gen UAV platforms.
What You’ll Do:
- Install, configure, and maintain communication systems: RF, LTE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and satellite.
- Build and integrate network infrastructure for unmanned platforms and ground control stations (routers, switches, wireless links).
- Diagnose and repair faults in RF systems, antennas, wiring harnesses, and digital network interfaces.
- Support system configuration, testing signal integrity, and mitigating interference.
- Manage secure networks: IP addressing, routing, VPNs for mission operations.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate critical modules and network components.
- Provide field support during operational missions, troubleshoot, configure on the fly, keep systems running under pressure.
- Maintain documentation to gold-standard QA.
About You:
- You’re a highly analytical, methodical technician with:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Electronics, Communications, Networking (or similar).
- 3+ years’ experience in communication/networking systems, ideally aerospace, defence, or advanced industry.
- Proven skill with RF systems, antennas, telemetry, and diagnostic/test gear (spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analysers).
- Solid soldering, wiring harness assembly, and PCB-level troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking (LAN/WAN), wireless, routing/switching.
- NV1 clearance (required).
- Excellent documentation, system integration, and clear communication ability.
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with UAV platforms, avionics, ground control networks.
- Familiarity with digital comms protocols (CAN, UART, Ethernet, RS-485), Linux networking tools, embedded systems.
- Cybersecurity and network security experience (VPNs, firewalls, segmentation).
- Background supporting defence or mission-critical systems.

Salary:
- Circa $120k + super
Hours:
- 7:30am–3:30pm, with occasional project flexibility.
