Assistant Project Manager - Fitout

Fancy stepping into a live seat on a 14 year financial services fitout program, where the projects run from $50k quick jobs to $2 million builds and no two weeks look the same?

Itch has partnered with a well established commercial fitout specialist based in Wangara to find an Assistant Project Manager who wants real variety, a genuine long term client relationship and an actual career runway.

You're stepping into a role built by someone who has run it brilliantly for the last five years, with a proper handover so you're never left guessing.

You'll support the Head of Fitout across a rolling program of financial services fitouts right across WA, everything from feasibility and budgeting through design, tendering and construction.

There's a strong, steady pipeline, so the pace is quick and the learning curve is real.
- Take projects from feasibility through budgeting, design review and tendering.
- Manage subcontract agreements, variations, progress claims and cost reporting.
- Chair and minute pre-construction and client meetings, keeping everyone aligned.
- Coordinate architects and service consultants to keep design and delivery on track.
- Keep HSE front of mind, from SWMS sign off to site inspections and reporting.
- Close projects out fast and cleanly, with defects handled inside two weeks.

You'll work with the same long standing client, on the books for 14 years, across sites all over WA. This business keeps its project teams together rather than shuffling people around, and you'll learn from a Head of Fitout who genuinely wants to see you grow into the role.

Based in Wangara, handy if you're north of the river and over the commute south. Standard hours too, 8am to 4.30pm, so you can actually plan a life around the job.

You don't need to have run the show solo yet. You do need a couple of years under your belt and the confidence to sit across the table from a client who has worked with this business for over a decade.
- A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar.
- A few years' practical experience in fitout or refurbishment projects.
- Comfortable with budgets, cost control, progress claims and financial reporting.
- A confident communicator who can hold their own with clients, architects and consultants.
- Solid with Microsoft Office, MS Project and document management systems.
- Current First Aid and a genuine HSE mindset.
