Admin Assistant - Sales Team

Say goodbye to peak hour traffic and hello to the open fields of grass and nature! Based in the far southern suburbs of Perth, our client is a medium-sized,  family-owned business in the Agronomy industry.

Boasting the largest WA farm in their speciality and a loyal team of staff who seem to never leave, (literally, most of us have been here for 10-15 years), this is a position is an opportunity you don't want to miss, not just because of its rarity but also for the team family you will be joining. 
 
To be successful here you need to be an admin extraordinaire. Someone with strong attention to detail and ready to hit the ground running. With enough phone and email enquiries to keep you very busy throughout the day, the hours seem to fly by in this office.

 

With a reputation that precedes them, there's no need to chase sales here, creating a laid-back and happy work environment. You will be working among a fun sales team in a newly built/renovated office with coffee and banter included.
This role has only become available as one of their much-loved employees is moving on to the wonderful world of retirement (lucky duck!) There isn’t a lot of movement otherwise, with people tending to have long tenures within the business.

WHAT’S INVOLVED?
 

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for actioning enquiries (and there are a lot of them!) From there, you need to confidently talk through the products and provide quotes and then follow up to see the quote through to sale. The manager has a relaxed approach and is ready to provide you with thorough training to ensure you have all of the tools to set yourself up for success. After all, a successful sales employee results in success in sales. You will also find yourself:

  • Arranging and conducting meetings with prospective customers at the display centre on the farm

  • Ensuring all administration relating to sales are completed effectively and accurately

  • Attending related trade shows when required – there is one the whole team attends once a year that is one of the highlights

  • Being available to work one in every three Saturdays

 
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
 
We are looking for someone with strong admin experience, someone intelligent and understanding, who will become invested in the business and "part of the family".
We are huge advocates for a strong work/life balance and it is important that you understand the importance of regular down-time, (such as lunch breaks). Occasionally you may need to work a Saturday, but for the most part, this a Monday-to-Friday job that won't encroach on your personal time.
 
You must be experienced in retail or sales and understand the importance of solid and professional customer service and the impact it has on the client and the business. We are also looking for:

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Proven ability to drive sales and generate new business

  • High-level communication skills – this is a given!

  • A passion for customer service and constant improvement mentality
