Before I get into the day-to-day let me just say that to be right for this role you should know what to expect daily, you are going to have to bring at least 18-24 months experience in a Procurement Officer role to be considered for this role.
Why? Well, sure, we are looking for a PO but really this role is primed for someone to step into the Procurement Manager role within the next 12-18 months, the amount of time it will take for you to be all over the needs of the business. If that is not your style, that's OK too but know that the opportunity is there for you to seize!
WHAT YOU WILL HAVE TO BRING TO THE ROLE
- ATTITUDE... more specifically a highly motivated and good one!
- You put the communication in... well... communication. You can speak to people at all levels and enjoy finding peoples roadmap.
- You like getting things off your To-Do list, but you understand that at times you have to drop what you are doing to get something urgent out!
- Someone that enjoys making sure that systems are being used to optimum, and also the smarts to implement new ones into the business as needed.
- You believe that by taking care of the cents the dollars will take care of themselves - you keep a close eyes on the numbers and like working to a budget.
Oh.. and the usual bits
- Hold a current WA Manual Drivers Licence
- Able to pass a pre employment medical including drug and alcohol screen.
- Able to obtain a National Police Clearance or hold a current NPC
- Licence To Perform High Risk Work (Forklift) or able to obtain this ticket
LETS GET INTO THE DAY TO DAY
- Maintain their Inventory Management System
- Identifying procurement improvments or strategies without compromising quality.
- Undertake regular stock takes ensure appropriate levels of stock are maintained
- Ensure the team deliver orders in the correct quantity, quality and on time, every time.
- Ensure all products and stock are stored and maintained in the correct locations
- Ensure the maintenance of warehouse equipment to minimise disruption to operations
- Support departments through timely delivery of material
- Take accountability for cyclical stock count process and subsequent outcome
- Implement initiatives to improve daily picking efficiency without compromising quality, safety or employee wellbeing.
- Loading and unloading trucks of parts and consumables for incoming stock and outgoing freight
- Ordering parts and consumables for specific rigs based on monthly stocktakes
- Packing parts and consumables for specific rigs based on monthly stocktakes
- Various ad-hoc duties around the yard and workshop
