THE WHO, THE WHAT AND THE WHERE

When was the last time you walked into a retail showroom and went WOW? Now, imagine that this is your workplace every single day. Part of a wider network of premium brands, you will be working in a state-of-the-art showroom in the Western Suburbs. A household name, the products really do just sell themselves, your job is to make the customer experience positive, memorable, and easy.

Working within a small team, you will be responsible for meeting and greeting customers as well as assisting with the phones and administration. On top of this you are processing orders in an accurate and timely fashion and liaising with sales reps and the warehouse team, as well as some data entry. This is not your typical sales role, in fact, there are no KPIs (I know, we were surprised as well). Think of your main priority being building relationships rather than selling. People will come in to have someone to talk to, so you need to be patient as this happens quite regularly. Once a week, they also hold customer demos so you will be responsible for organising and preparing for these events (set tables, order stock, print menus).

You will have clear priorities but may need to switch lanes from time to time so you need to be flexible - there is always something to do! If you are unsure, there is always someone to ask. Mistakes are OK to make but you need to own up to them. Their mantra is “if you’re not asking, you’re not learning”.

WHAT YOU’RE REALLY GOOD AT

As this is not a “salesy” sales role, retail experience is not necessary. You will have really strong customer service skills and experience instead. They work with an in-house program too which is easy to learn but is from the dark ages (we are talking black and green screens). We would love it if you had experience in working with databases too!
