THE WHO, THE WHAT AND THE WHERE

Our client is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of outdoor equipment. From camping tents to military equipment, if you need it in the outdoors, they’ve got you covered…quite literally. Proudly based in the Eastern suburbs of Perth, they are a global award-winning brand, who aim to inspire in everything they do. They live and breathe the outdoors and base everything they do on real-life experience and genuine passion for nature. Their cutting-edge designs have taken them to the top and naturally, they are just great people with one heck of a vision.

The massive base camp consists of a warehouse, stock centre and massive open plan office which is a hive of activity that you are going to want to be part of. You’ll be working with a bunch of people that are mindful, work hard but also have fun, and don’t take themselves too seriously. You will most certainly not be just another cog in the wheel here, and of course, enjoy a generous employee discount AND an onsite swimming pool.

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

It’s a newly created role and we’re hunting for someone who is highly organised, analytical and willing to put in the groundwork to support and fulfil service and product objectives for their global customers. Working closely with the Inventory Controller, you will essentially be the backbone of the operation. You will be a key support to the Sales and Operations process, and drive alignment with cross-functional partners such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations, IT, and Finance in order to achieve forecast accuracy.

Here's a run-through of your responsibilities:
- Taking ownership of the demand forecast which supports the wider supply chain function to meet demand
- Review and refine forecast models in advance taking into account sales and marketing and demand drivers
- Plan and develop the demand plan with supporting sources
- Review trends, forecast accuracy and bias, and much like climbing that mountain, strive for progressive improvement
- Work closely with key stakeholders as a support
- Lead and manage the demand review process and related activities
- Prepare KPI reports, and analyse forecast accuracy, demand trends and sales cycles
- Undertake research to refine forecasting models
- Collaborate with the sales team on new product launches, deletions, range reviews etc. ensuring product success
- Manage the tools and systems, supporting their maintenance and always looking for improvements
- Provide broader support to the planning team when required
- It’s a very welcomed role within the company and the big highlight here is what they offer their people, including a relocation package for the right person. They’re all about setting you up to succeed.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

Aside from being a nature lover, here’s what we’re seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or analytical discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in FMCG or lifestyle industry
- Open and clear communication and transparency on all fronts (you can expect the same back)
- A true forward thinker
- Solid interpersonal skills to facilitate the decision-making process across all units
- An absolute master of Excel
- The ability to take ownership and drive change, improvements, and successful outcomes
- Support growth of the business
- Priorities and deadlines change so being able to adapt and problem solve is a must
- A high degree of numeracy and analysis
